Come and join us on Friday, February 27, 8:00 pm-9:30 pm for our upcoming "Can We Talk?" presentation and open discussion on Identity and Adoption

Identity is not something adoptees “figure out once.” It evolves over time—often in ways that raise complex questions about race, belonging, family, and self.

This session invites adult adoptees into an honest, respectful conversation about identity within adoption, with space for reflection, discussion, and lived experience. Parents are welcome to attend, with adoptee voices centered.

Presenters:
Amy Strickler, LMSW, LSW
Assistant Director, Intensive Weekend Program
Assistant Professor of Teaching
Rutgers School of Social Work

Mark Dodd, LCSW
Psychotherapist
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (NY & NJ)
Certified School Social Worker (NJ)
Certified Clinical Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Social Worker

Amy and Mark are the adoptive parents of an adult adoptee, and Amy is an adoptee in reunion with her biological family.

This is Session 1 of a three-part series on Identity and Transracial Adoption:

  • Session 1: Identity and Adoption (Adult adoptees; parents welcome)

  • Session 2: Transracial Adoption (Adult adoptees only)

  • Session 3: Search and Reunion (Adult adoptees and parents)

🔗 RSVP required

Please RSVP via the attached link by noon on 2/26/2026 to receive the Zoom link.
